Mixed reaction to last weeks post - small audience of course so opinions at the extremes - just goes to show that different people like different things and no-one should think they have the only correct opinion on whats good and whats bad image wise.
This week I have been working in Algeciras in southern Spain (very hot) so no time for photography so far.
I did have an exciting evening watching the football in a beach bar with my Spanish colleagues - though I don't like those penalty endings - always feel sad for the guys who miss.... (if you agree you should listen to Al Stewarts song Football Hero)
There is a short video of the project I am looking after in Algeciras here
Vopak Algeciras
and of course those of you who watch the news will have seen that we have a new project in the UK at Coryton
Trying to decide if I can be bothered to drive 3 hours this morning to watch the start of the Tour de France in Liege in Belgium - I suspect laziness will win out and I am astonished that cycling sport has again shot itself in the foot by charging Lance Armstrong with a doping offence and launching an enquiry into doping in the Europcar team both on the eve of the tour start - My favorite Andy Schleck is not racing after fracturing his pelvis in a crash earlier this year - so plenty of excuses to stay at home!
Last weekend I spent some time playing with acrylic ink - nice to paint with but a bit unpredictable - picture is supposed to be based on an assignment in Jane's course (my wife) representing the end of the sun - the idea is paint - photograph - print on silk - and this part works really well and looks amazing on the silk sheet - unfortunately it does not stand up to the next phase when she tries to incorporate it into her fabrics - all too wet and soapy for the printer ink - the pigment ink in the printer is good for more than 100 years on the wall and about 10 minutes with Jane.
Next week I am going back to Dubai - last time I took this shot from my hotel room
And this when having dinner by the fountain
